Milo, I don't think it was a hostile takeover at all to be honest! If anything, it was a clearly thought out, well-paced, transparent business decision. Why be competitors when each company has its strengths in its own markets?
Both companies have their individual successes and their strengths in different gaming genres. Even though my 'game titles' were a playful way of looking at a non-likely future of gaming; I honestly cannot see any reason why they cannot combine old games into new.. I guess time will tell. Thank you for your post though!

Why would two mega gaint gaming companies merge (more of a hostile take over IMO) and then create games based on work they have already done. You would think they would make some NEW games with NEW concepts..

I have to agree with Jason (above). People DO lots of weird and wonderful things when they come out of an acquisition!
If there is an attempt to make two formats meet for a ‘new game’ title, it could only mean shocking results. I mean could you really imagine if what you’ve proposed above – game wise, comes true! Yikes!

I think Activision Blizzard sounds retarded, and I hope this merger has NO impact on World of Warcraft. Whilst Call of Duty 4 is an amazing game, same with WoW, people tend to do stupid things in mergers trying to ‘take advantage’ of each others respective success.

My vote? Keep them separate!
